SHOCK WAVE THERAPY

SHOCK WAVE THERAPY

for the regeneration of tissue

pain-relieving

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ECST) is a modern and gentle method of orthopedic pain therapy.

Shock waves are high-energy sound and pressure waves comparable to high-energy acoustic waves that accelerate healing processes in the body. Shock waves activate the blood circulation. This activity releases messenger substances with pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory effects and also stimulates the formation of new blood vessels. As a result, damaged tissue is regenerated and can heal better.

Treatment involves the application of a dermal gel to the affected area to transmit shock waves into the body without loss of energy. The treatment itself takes about 5-10 minutes and is usually only a little painful. There is a series of 3 to 5 weekly treatments. After a few weeks of therapy, there will be a lasting biological effect.

Areas of application:

Tennis elbow (tendon irritation on the outside elbow)

Golfer’s elbow (tendon irritation on the inside elbow)

Calcific tendinitis (shoulder pain with calcification)

Bursitis trochanterica (painful enthesis inflammation on the hip crest)

Sinding-Larsen disease/patellar tip syndrome (stress pain at the patella tendon)

Achillodynia (painful irritation of the Achilles tendon)

Plantar fasciitis (“heel spur” – mostly chronical inflammation on the heel)

Shin splint/Medial tibial stress syndrome

Irritations of the tendon insertions due to overload

Myofascial syndrome

Muscle injury without interruption of the continuity

Bone marrow edema of different genesis
